How To Increase Your Libido: With Watermelon Viagra!
I had to write this article because I ran across a research article that shocked me. In the article, with the headline "How to increase your libido", the author talked about eating more watermelon.
It must be a joke I though, checking the date to be sure it wasn't April Fools. Alas, it was not.
In the ScienceDaily (!), Dr. Bhimu Patil, a good-ole' Texas boy at A&M, studies watermelons — and sex! He's an expert on how to increase your libido!
According to the good doctor, watermelon has "lycopene, beta carotene, and citrulline". Citrulline has the ability to relax and allow blood vessels to expand — similar to the properties of Viagra. It is being referred to as Watermelon Viagra.
How To Increase Your Libido
I turned to Wikipedia, thinking I could get a layman's explanation of Watermelon Viagra, but was disappointed to find that no such information exists on how to increase your libido with citrulline.
From there, I went to WebMD, another source I like to follow and asked the same question. "What do watermelon and sex have in common?".
Ok, so that is not the question I really asked, but it sounded better in this context. Here is what I did find at WebMD.
L-citrulline boosts nitric oxide production in the body. Nitric oxide helps your arteries relax and work better, which improves blood flow throughout your body.
One of the caveats I did notice however, is that there are NO specific "erection" studies with Citrulline.
And here is the bad news; Citrulline is found mostly in the rind of the Watermelon — not the meat. You would need to eat almost an entire watermelon each day to get the right amount of boost. And if you are like me, you would never get anything done because you would be peeing the entire day.
So to get the true benefit, one must take Citrulline supplements and combine them with L-arginine.
L-arginine is another "sex booster" I have heard about for some time and is mentioned as being necessary with the Citrulline.
Back to Dr Patil at ScienceDaily …
Scientists know that when watermelon is consumed, citrulline is converted to arginine through certain enzymes. Arginine is an amino acid that works wonders on the heart and circulation system and maintains a good immune system, Patil said.
Calling it watermelon viagra is a little misleading, but considering how many people are asking how to boost your libido, it is always good to know that there are some natural options. Plus watermelon taste really good, not like those supplement powders!
Sadly, LoveWorks doesn't sell vitamins, but L-Arginine/L-Citrulline supplements should be available at all the common vitamin stores.
For other products that LoveWorks DOES SELL,
